This is an good article about some of the interesting stories going on with the draft right now:

Capitalization is the difference between "I had to help my Uncle Jack off a horse." and "I had to help my uncle jack off a horse."

I love this write-up on David Pollack:

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft0..._ratings&num=0

Upside: Huge motor, plays every snap as it if might be the one on which he draws his last breath, always passionate about the game.
So true. *sigh* He will be missed.

If this is true, he could be really exciting to watch for a long time:

The dish: There are a lot of buts about him -- but he isn't very big, but he lacks quickness, but where do you play him – yet he's too good and, more important, too productive, to ignore. Some teams are now projecting him as a linebacker in a 3-4 scheme and he might be able to do that. Sort of a Tedy Bruschi-style defender who seems to have addressed most of the doubters.

    WOW

Aaron Rodgers slipping all the way down to the Pack at pick #24 was a huge shock to me. Nobody will be able to replace Favre, but maybe this kid will make losing Favre a little less painful. Hopefully he'll work out, or be part of a big trade down the road.

I love the Rogers pick also, but why take a WR in the 2nd? They have SO many defensive holes.

5 Bulldogs picked on the first day. 2 were picked by Cincinatti. Looks like the Bengals are trying to make a run for the Super Bowl by loading up on Bulldogs!

Fucking Broncos picked up Maurice Clarett in the goddman 3rd round.

I hope the Broncos go 0-16 for that pick.

    Goddamn them.

    WOO BULLDOG!

Philly's WR depth chart is a mess, but rookie Reggie Brown is off to a good start.
    Brown impressive at Eagles' mini-camp

Why did it have to be the Eagles though.

"He's certainly shown an aptitude and the ability to hold his own," acknowledged Eagles offensive coordinator Brad Childress, one of the NFL's best minds and top teachers. "It's a matter of how he continues to grow."

This I was not aware of:

Reggie Brown led the SEC in receiving yards (830) last season.
Not much of a year for receivers in the SEC if the highest yards was 830. So much for that bozo who said something a few months ago about SEC not playing tough defense.

Fact is, Brown was simply continuing the positive momentum that began a couple of years ago. One of the most heavily recruited wide receivers in the country when he came out of Carrollton (Ga.) High School, he caught just 42 passes in his first three seasons with the Bulldogs, including a 2001 campaign truncated by injury.

But in 2003, fully healthy and operating in an offense more conducive to his success, Brown surpassed more celebrated teammate Fred Gibson as the team's go-to receiver. And when Brown started making more plays, NFL scouts began paying increased attention, suddenly viewing him as a high-round prospect. Brown followed a strong Senior Bowl week with an outstanding combine performance, one in which he was clocked in under 4.5 seconds, and his stock continued to rise.

The guy who regularly pedaled 30 miles around Athens on his old bicycle, and who was often chided by Georgia teammates for doing so, is on the NFL fast track. With Owens still in the garage and Mitchell headed for the exit ramp, the Eagles might need Brown to move into the passing lane.

"We threw a lot at him," Reid said after the mini-camp. "We're going to throw even more at him in the next camp, and we'll see how it goes."
