    NFL Draft 05!

Just over a week away is one of the highlights of the offseason. The NFL Draft is a beacon of hope that keeps me going while I wait for the regular season to start up again (just 146 days 20 hours away).

What do you think the 49ers are going to do with the first pick?

What do you think your team is going to do in the first round?

49ers will take one of the QB's. It seems like they'd love to trade the pick, but it doesn't look like anyone is willing to pull the trigger.

As for the Packers. Defense, defense and more defense. They have so many holes on the defensive side of the ball, they really just need to take the best defensive player available. I'd like to see them get a middle linebacker so they could move Barnett outside.

man am i excited. i'm pretty sure the 49ers are gonna take Alex Smith, but they could go ahead and take Braylon Edwards too. don't think they'll go with anyone else or trade down. as for the Steelers, i think they might snag Pollack if he's still around. a lot of mock drafts have them taking a DT, but i really dont see that one happening cos they have Casey Hampton who is young and kicks ass.

That would be a smart move. They need another Bulldog to make up for their loss of Kendrell Bell.

If they are really smart, they'll try to also get Thomas Davis or Odell Thurman.

I'm always psyched this time of year, though the draft isn't going to play as a huge a part in the Giants gameplan this year. In the offseason they acquired wide receiver Plaxico Burress, linebacker Antonio Pierce and tackle Kareem McKenzie and traded away this year's first round pick to SD for Eli Manning in 04.

I'd have to guess they'll continue to look at linemen. Injuries killed our already suspect O-line last year and they have to bolster it. The G-men have the 11th pick in the second round (No. 43 overall), the 10th pick in the third round (No. 74), the ninth pick in the fourth round (No. 110) and the 12th pick in the sixth round (No. 186).

I'd be shocked if they don't pick up at least 2 linemen with that, especially since talented linemen rarely go in the early rounds.

I'd love to see them come away with a good LB or two. We've wasted far too many picks on the secondary and I'm sick of seeing more DBs drafted. Another talented O-Lineman would be nice too, but that's a lower priority than the D.

I'd love to see Davis in a Packer uniform!

    i've come to a conclusion

    the steelers need Matt Jones

there's a few reasons for this
    1) they lost Burress, Jones is coming in as a receiver, which leads to...
    2) the dude is a FREAK 6'6, 237 and he runs a 4 fucking 4 forty yard dash. unbelievable
    3) look at their track record of converting qbs to wrs. Randle El played QB at Indiana in college, and of course, that awesome Bulldog Hines Ward is one of the NFL's elite

    it all adds up!

Wow. That is a really interesting theory.

What also makes you think is how stupid moron Kordell Stewart refused to convert and insisted on being a QB. One has to wonder if he could have been another Randel El or Hines Ward instead of being a chump.
