    Iverson scores 60 against Orlando

What was the reason that Iverson managed to score that many points? He doesn't strike me as an awesome basketball mind nor as anything but a loose cannon player.

Was it a freak game or was it crap defense and ball hogging?

From what I saw of the game, the Sixers only put up 112 points, so Iverson must have had close to half of offensive possession and his opposite number must have been on Morphine or something.

    thoughts?

Well occasionally there are NBA players who put up a ton of points. Iverson is the type of guy who takes 25-30 shots a game, and if he can hit 40% of then he normally ends up with around 30 points. So he just hit a higher percentage of them. He also made a ton of free throws too... was it 24 out of 27?

But yeah, at least once a year there is a performance where someguy gets more than 50 points. It's nothing too uncommon.

    So I see

Take the two players of the week this week, during the last season both have put up 50 or more points.

Iverson is a pretty amazing player who frequently is in the top 5 in scoring.

This isn't terribly surprising that he was able to put up this kind of production.

A pretty amazing player yes, but he doesn't strike me as a stellar player. If the Sixers are willing to bank on him to do the lion's share of their scoring and carry the majority of their possession then of course he will look good.

But I don't think that kind of play will win the Sixers a championship. We'll see what goes on in the future I guess.

It's halftime now, and he has 45 points.

Do coaches do homework anymore? Is there a reason this guy is able to get SO open SO much?

Maybe I'm just bitter he's not on my fantasy team.
