It amazes me that the media has basically nothing to say about a former klansman blocking a vote on the confirmation of a black female.

The double standard is ridiculous. If this were President Kerry and not President Bush, and a former klansman was blocking the confirmation vote of a black female, the media would be un an uproar.

Some interesting facts about Byrd:

* Byrd is the only former Ku Klux Klan member in the United States Senate.

* Byrd is the only senator to vote against both black Supreme Court justice nominees — Thurgood Marshall and Clarence Thomas.
