This is sortof a weird, obscure question since Seattle didn't go very far in the playoffs and nobody expected Rice to be the key that turned them into a great team.
But I still find it interesting to look at an old veteran's performance to see if he is still contributing in a useful manner.
With Seattle Rice played in 11 games, starting 9 of them.
Receptions: 25
Yards: 362
AVG: 14.5
Touchdowns: 3
First Downs: 17
So he averaged about 2-3 catches per game, 33 yards per game, 1-2 first downs per game, and a touchdown every 3 games he started.
Not amazing, but that seems to be a solid contribution. I'm not sure how much he was paid, however.
Granted, these are not "Jerry Rice" numbers, but neither he nor anyone else expected or claimed he would put up "Jerry Rice" numbers.
Your opinions? Is he still contributing in a meaningful way or is he just padding his stats?
