Before I get into this, allow me to say: IT IS ABOUT FUCKING TIME.

Okay.

Skype is just awesome. I love it. I was on a four-way conversation between Texas, Ontario, British Columbia and Florida...and then later between Texas, Ontario, Florida and Manitoba... MAN, the quality was AWESOME. I swear it was better than a cell phone. 90% of the call conversation was completely clear (that is when mister Florida with the immensely loud microphone that could pick up conversations in Tunisia had us on hold). keke...

I completely recommend this to everybody. Especially people who like to call other people who play Thresh or even family members or friends but just cannot get past the whole phone bill thing.

We were using 1.1 Beta and it seemed to work flawlessly. There -are- known issues with 1.1 Beta, but they didn't really happen with me.

I recommend having a headset that has a microphone attached which has Noise Canceling (nudge Riph). But you don't have to.

Riph fixed his problem and is now comprehensible. For the purpose of being able to understand the words, not necessarily what he is saying.

I'm still impressed even after the second day. I haven't had any problems, whatsoever. We need more Threshers on Skype!

I have to say Skype was amazing! The call, even the conference call, was crystal clear and better than cell/landline quality.

I've been using Skype for quite some time now, I think it rocks, and it's much more comfortable than phone.

Skype offers free calling to phones in U.S., Canada

Skype users can now make free SkypeOut calls to traditional landline and mobile phones in the U.S. and Canada until the end of the year, the company announced Monday.

Has anyone here tried it with dial-up? I'd really like to know if it works out well that way. I live in a very rural area, so high-speed isn't an option.
