This is my latest can of worms to open up.

It really bothers me that some conservative parties, religious groups are predicting the end of Canadian civilization with this Supreme Court decision.
I'm sorry, but marriage hasn't been sacred for a long time, giving the high rate of divorce, infidelity, and common law relationships.
So this arguement in my view, doesn't hold up.

Many marriages are sacred of course, and those that succeed are to be celebrated.

So many on the right today, still view homosexuality as deviant behaviour. In many minds, it is akin to pedophilia and incest, that every gay man out there is a predator for little boys, and that gays don't really choose this lifestyle, and can be -saved-.

And that's what bothers me most!! Gays and lesbians are still viewed by a significant population as second class citizens.

Having said all that, I can, however respect the position that not all churches would be forced to marry gay couples, as to not infringe on their beliefs.
I just hope that this legislation passes, and that gays will finally have the same right to marry across Canada.
