    World's biggest digital panorama photo

The largest digital panoramic photo in the world has been created by researchers in the Netherlands.

The finished image is 2.5 billion pixels in size - making it about 500 times the resolution of images produced by good consumer digital cameras.
What makes this a lot of fun is that they have published the picture on the web as a flash applet that lets you move the camera and zoom-zoom-zoom. It is quite amazing how much detail a 2.5 billion pixels photo can carry.

    The story behind the picture

That's like taking Where's Waldo to the next level. You could spend an hour looking for small things in that photo, like the torso-less guy mentioned in the article. Find him?

Nope, I have not found the guy yet, but I have found some pretty funny looking cars.

This reminds me of my free trial on the NASA satellite thing where you could view all the major world cities. I tell you, roaming through London and Tokyo, then stopping in New York is pretty interesting.

I actually found him! He's by a blue sign, right? Wearing a backpack and looking away. And a few spots below him in that parking lot is a wonderful parking job! If you find it, you'd know what I mean.

That's pretty awesome to look at.

I didn't find the torsoless guy but I did find his torso.. and this incredible parking job mentioned earlier. Or perhaps this was a different one. However, now.. I want to park like that sometime.
