Having the Honor of being Born In Pittsburgh and growing up with the Steeler /Dolphin Rivalry (Moms side all 6 Kids from Miami)
and then having to endure the 80's with off the Mark Malone and the 90's (thank god Slash is gone) all I can say is TIME TO GET COWHER A RING! GO STEELERS!!!!!![]()

Well, that game with the Redskins wasnt very impressive. I guess any team can get pumped up against a steaking team.
Kinda worried about Jacksonville, only because Ben's been stuffed for 2 weeks in a row now. Still take Ben over Maddox though.
Go Steelers!
Heres the thing, Ben is awesome.. he came out like a secret weapon, but just as in any battle, your enemies will watch past footage, and learn your weak points. The offensive line needs to step up and do a little better protecting their QB.
On top of that, they can't let their guard down. Every team they go against from here on out is gonna be out for blood. When you are top dog, all the little dogs will seek to bring you down.
go STEELERS!!

THAT was too close for my liking.. great way to hussle at the end.. but my heart is still pounding. But I'm glad for the win

11 and 1 =P
but yes, that game was insane. Roethlisberger was amazing. what i dont understand is why they didnt put Bettis in there. Staley wasnt very productive and Bettis ran well the few times he was in. *shrugs* a win is a win
-> Liathano gets bet up by teh post.
I wasn't too concerned with the outcome of the game, but I was hoping it'd be a good one. And damn, it sure was! I can't remember the last time I saw a game (outside of hockey, that is) where people were getting so consistently plastered. And a good old-fashioned nailbiter to boot. Hooray for good tough football!
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

I am also a life-long Steelers fan. Being from Harrisburg and watching the steel curtain literally kill opponents turned me into an instant Steelers fan. Lynn Swann was my hero. And watching that defense was nothing short of amazing. They just crushed people. And yes, having to live through the Mark Malone, Bubby Brister, Neil O'Donnell (at least he got us to a superbowl before he decided he liked passing to the opposing defense more then his own receivers)... And then the debacle that is SLASH. That boy was just awful and remains so, but at least for a different team.
But this Rothlesburger kid is the real deal. He plays a smart and intuitive game. And being bigger then many linebackers doesn't hurt either. The Steelers are a very good team with all the right pieces to win a championship. Once Staley and Burress are more healthy I think the Patriots and Eagles are going to be in trouble. My only fear is that Cower will change his game plan once he gets into the championship games. He has a history of ignoring his run game in the playoffs. If they stick to their strengths I think the Pats will have a tough time getting past them. And if they have home field advantage I think they will definitely be superbowl bound!
I also like the Eagles alot and am praying for an all Pennsylvania Superbowl, baby!!!
Go STEELERS!!!!
I have a Lynn Swann story.Originally posted by Jamis
Lynn Swann was my hero.
In college Andre Heinz (yes, son of Theresa Heinz) was a teammate of mine on the rowing team. Every year we had a fund raiser called an Erg-a-Thon. In this fundraiser, we put 4 rowing machines under a tent in the main school courtyard and had rowers doing 1 hour "erg pieces" 24/7 for a week. People could come by and donate money and tons did.
One year, Andre and his dad (who was Senator Heinz from Pennsylvania) talked to their friend Lynn Swann about coming to the Erg-a-thon. He did! And he even did a 1 hour erg piece. The guy was still in monster shape!
I was lucky enough to have one of my erg times at the same time Lynn Swann was there and got to hang out and chat with him. He was incredibly nice- in addition to how awesome it was of him to help us out.
Unsurprisingly, I became an instant Steelers fan.
