"He is truly wise, who's travelled far and knows the ways of the world.
He who has travelled can tell what spirit governs the men he meets"
Taken from the Norse "Havamal"
The show is now over, the votes have been counted and Canada has decided that out of the top 10, the top 3 are:
3. Pierre Trudeau (a former Prime Minister who did good things for some of Canada)
2. Terry Fox (whom I voted for when I voted) If you don't know who Terry Fox is then you REALLY need to find out. He ran across most of Canada, with only one leg I should mention, in hopes of raising money for Cancer research. He only made it from BC to Ontario when the cancer spread to his lungs and he was forced to cut his journey short. There are Terry Fox runs all over the world to this day. I could go on, but I won't. If you know of him or learn about him then you know/will know why he is inspirational to not only Canadians, but many people throughout the world.
And the person deemed Canada's Greatest...
1. Tommy Douglas (who, for those who don't know, established a Canadian Health Care system..among other things)

Hi
Sorry Vidare, I have to correct you on some points about Terry Fox. I also voted for him as Greatest Canadian - when I watched the show about him, I was in tears. There's no way you can watch him, doing his famous hop-run, without being moved.
Terry's run started in Atlantic Canada - he was running east to west (even though he was from BC). He ran a marathon a day. That's right. Every day. On a prosthetic leg. He made it to Thunder Bay - over 3300 kilometers away ... before he had to quit because his cancer had spread to his lungs. When the doctors told him he had to quit - he cried - not because he felt sorry for himself but because he felt he was letting down the kids who he was trying to raise money for.
Since his original run, the Terry Fox foundation has raised over $350 million dollars for cancer research, and the annual run is held in over 50 different countries.
Terry Fox is a true inspiration, and not just a great Canadian, but a great human being.
On the other hand, Don Cherry, number 7? C'mon, folks, seriously? Ahead of Wayne Gretzky? Bah.
Valec not VidareAnd oops if I fucked up where he started
I just always remember that he's from BC so I messed up on my facts hehe. That's why people should look him up..I guess I should too for specific info
