Fantasy Football!!!

We're getting to that time of year again when we need to get ready for the next season! So, post here if you are interested in playing this year.

Yahoo! worked well enough last year, and as far as I know it will still be free with add-ons for those that want to purchase them. We've had a great turn out the first three seasons, so I'm sure we'll have a great league again this year!

ALRIGHT! Its football time!

Since last year came down, I have been trying to come up with ways to make the league even more awesome. After speaking with Ari, to get his approval, we have kicked around an idea I think would enhance the league by leaps and bounds.... so....

THRESHOLD PREMIUM FANTASY LEAGUE (Name subject to change!)

What I was thinking is that we have all the Die-hard fans out here, that have participated in great rivalries in previous years, and those that have proven a great love for football on sports, etc, form a league.

The league would charge a small one time registration entry fee, (Say, $25-50), and have numerous prizes throughout the season. All the prizes and goals could be fun, (Who played the running back with the most fumbles = 5 orb, who's WR's had the most dropped balls, whatever) this would keep people from abandoning 'loser' teams halfway through and ruining the balance of the league, which has been a problem every year.

We would limit this league to 12-14 teams, based on popularity, and perhaps could do more than one league if there are alot more people who would like to participate, but the idea is to keep the same long rivalries we have been establishing over the years

The prizes and fees and details of course are all changable, suggestable, etc, and everyone will have a say before we start things off.

So what do you all think? Is this something you would be interested in? What changes do you suggest? Speak up!

I'm all for the premiums!

Just so everyone is clear, we'll use the free Yahoo! legue, and the "premiums" will come through special registration made just for the fantasy football league.

I've set a league up for us on yahoo, and will handle all of the league settings as we decide collectively how we want it set up. Anyone who wants to sign up can use the below info to make a team, but you need to be serious about it and you should post here or IM me with the name of your team so I know who is who and that way it is easier to manage the league.

If there is enough interest for a prize free league I'll gladly be the commisser for a second league. I've a fair bit of experience being a commissioner, so I'm happy to do it!

After a surprisingly good inaugural season, the PowderPuffs have returned for a second year, with a fresh new TV contract and some key off-season acquisitions. Game on.

Ps. The premium league idea is a great one to keep people motivated. Count me in. As for voting on a cost, I'd say let's keep it easier since it's our first time trying it out and go with a $25 reg. If it works out really well (as I'm sure we all hope) then we can up it for next year. It would just suck for someone to shell out $50 and end up with nothing to show for it.
