Internet group or good forum program

I need a place where I can communicate with a group of students. In the past I have been using a danish I Group, but they have made the free use very limited.

I have a domain and a web server but I have no idea about forum programs or other similiar solutions.

Functionality that would be nice:
-Forum
-Mail group
-Calendar
-Profile for each user
-File sharing

I would prefer a free solution but if there is a solution that will cost me a one time payment around $30 I can live with that as well.

Anyboard is a really basic forums package that is free. I've downloaded and installed it and it is really easy to configure. It has a chat facility too. So far I have tested out the registration, email and chat functions.

It's okay for a free package to share with close friends and family. Here's the link.
