Its illegal in the US now, its looking more and more like it will be legalized. Right now Canadians are getting a good deal on drugs, if the US legalizes reimportation and Canada doesn't change, they will almost assuredly lose their good deal.
Canada has an $8 billion drug market, the US has a $200 billion drug market, drug companies aren't going to let Canadian pricing policies dictate what happens in the US, so they will either limit supplies to Canada, not sell the newest drugs there, or change their pricing agreements in the future. I have no idea why Canadian politicians don't seem to be working to prevent this from happening, if they made the reimportation (to the US) illegal or limited in some way, then they would have a much better chance of keeping their lower drug prices. It seems to me the Canadian politicians aren't looking out for their citizen's best interests while the US politicians are.
