VCD editing/converting?
Hey, all you technology savvy people!
Any recommendations for either a VCD editing tool or a VCD to AVI or something converter? (I've got a demo version of adobe premiere, AFAIK I could cut the .avi with that)
I had someone convert a video tape I'd made, so now I have one of those .DAT-files you get on VCDs, but I'd like to snip off a few seconds at the beginning and the end. Nothing fancy.
I don't really care what format it ends up in, as long as it's viewable with basic players - Windows Media Player preferrably (yeah, I know...)
I did find a nice one, MPEG4 direct maker, which lets you select the section you want to convert, but unfortunately the demo version adds a logo to the picture throughout the whole clip. And I'm only going to need it this once, so I'd prefer not to spend money on it - so freeware or demos would be neat.
Thanks!

Firstly that .DAT can be renamed to .MPG and will play fine on WMP. There's an excellent site which will be able to help http://www.videohelp.com/
The How Tos should be able to cover any different combination of things you need to do, and include many screenshots to take you step by step.
It sounds like you want something from http://www.videohelp.com/edit
I've used TMPGEnc before and most people say it is one of the best, so have a look: http://www.videohelp.com/tmpgencedit.htm

Woo! Perfect! Exactly what I was looking for and easy to use, which is always a nice bonus.
Thanks!
