Is Bush's military record a big issue for voters?

I know the Dems are pounding away at this one against Bush.
And the Repubs always bring it up too for Kerry.

I'm just wondering if this is a deciding factor when you're deciding your vote. How big a deal is it?

It's not important to me. A nice record might mean you're a great American, but it doesn't mean you're a competent leader or decision maker.

As long as he gives the military a pay raise and supports the development of the military technologies that I'm in favor of, he has my vote! Of course that is just me looking out for myself.

The only way it has really affected me is that I have a lot of disgust for John Kerry's campaign people for trying to call Bush a deserter and a such.

Otherwise, I would have been happy that both candidates had served. Instead, it's just now a mudslinging tactic for both sides. I say drop it. It's getting to be a super boring issue.
