Responses on this topic will depend on your social upbringing. If your social norm was American, then eating a dog would sound horrible. If your social norm was Korean, then eating a dog would be scrumptuous.

If you haven't read the article called "The Naciremas", then I strongly urge you to read it!

Think about what we eat as Americans. We eat chicken and fish embryos (eggs and caviar), yet some other society would view this as horrendous.

We consider animal sex to be taboo, yet one of Englands queens had a contraption built in order to have sex with a horse.

I would be willing to bet that if any one of you were to be served a dish with dog as the main course, but you were not told it was dog meat until an hour after you finished and you raved about how good the meal was...you wouldn't "throw up".

Cannibalism is a taboo in our society, yet it's not in other societies. Incest is another taboo for our society, yet it's a common practice is some African villages.

You possess no banquet to eat.
    > shit pants
You shrug off the mortal coil.

Is it right to eat dogs?

Although I would not eat a dog I do not think it is wrong to do so. If there is a choice between eating a dog and starving I see nothing wrong with it. These people could be so impoverished that they cannot afford other types of meat. If they consider dog meat a delicacy, who's to say it is wrong. If someone keeps pet frogs is it wrong to eat frog legs? I would say no. The one thing about the article that turned my stomach was the way in which the dogs were slaughtered. I think it should be quick and as painless as possible. Just my two cents.

This is an old topic but I thought it was really neat. Well I would never eat dog, and I would never eat somewhere that its served. Its obviously a culture thing and people eat much nastier things than dog. Hell look at the south, they eat the guts, even a dog has decent cuts of meat on it somewhere.

Well dragging back an old topic.. I am now in south korea (I wasn't at first posting). anyway dog is a stamina food (ie it keeps guys up longer). Its not just a general foodstuff, its something you eat for specific reasons, and girls aren't welcome heh. In the town I am in there is one dog restaurant (that I know of, in a town of 120,000). Its not a common thing here, just a.. special food.. for guys..

anyway, no I haven't been to my local dog restaurant, and I don't plan to. They aRE killed in a horrible way, and also the mere idea of eating dog isn't my cup of tea. Though in different circumstances I would feel the same about pig etc.. I just been brought up to think dog = pet, and pig = dinner.

ps. though I did go to a kareoke room a few nights ago, which I also swore I would never do..
