LOS ANGELES -- USC offensive lineman Winston Justice has been suspended by the university after being arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, the Los Angeles Daily News reported Saturday.
Justice will be suspended from classes for a minimum of two weeks after allegedly flashing a pellet gun at another student in a university housing complex, sources told the newspaper. The decision to suspend Justice was made Thursday night by school officials.
He turned himself in to Los Angeles police and was released on bail Wednesday, according to the paper. Charges have not been filed.
Justice will not be allowed to take part in USC's spring football practice, which which began Saturday.
"Winston Justice is ineligible for spring football practice because of a student-conduct issue. The matter is now being reviewed and he will be out indefinitely," Michael Jackson, USC vice president of student affairs, said in a statement.
Justice pleaded no contest last summer to soliciting prostitution and was sentenced to three years summary probation in Long Beach Superior Court.
