Best Forum Hosting?

I have a D&D gaming group that is shooting e-mails back and forth like mad. I thought that it would probably be a good idea to start a small forum or message board to keep track of the information. This is what I am looking for:
- A message board with a similar format to this forum not a "thread" style message board.
-A board that I would have the option of making free of advertisements. (I don't mind shelling out a bit of money to do so. I would of course like to keep it as cheap as possible though.)
- A hosting company that won't sell or compromise information of the people who sign up for accounts.
Of course it wouldn't hurt at all if it was versatile with lots of cool features. It would be nice to have a fairly simple link to the site because presently I do not have a webpage to link it from. Does anyone have any recommendations on Board Hosting Services? Are there any that I should avoid?
If anyone has any advice on creating a board as well I would appreciate it.
Thank you!!

I don't know that much about all the features and prices and so on...But whenever I play D & D, I play on PlayByWeb.com. I never hosted a game there, I just played. But it seemed like a pretty cool place to host one.
Hope it helps!
Oh yeah, URL for the site is...
http://www.playbyweb.com

Thanks, but I wasn't looking for a place to "play by web". We have a group that actually gets together every week to game. We have just been sharing so much information about the game with each other that it looks like it is time for a board. I will have to check that out though!
