    Elections 2004

Here's a webquiz that compares your views on various issues, to (most of the) candidates running in the 2004 Elections.

I was surprised by some of the positions that some of the candidates took. People who don't haven't decided who to vote for (especially democratic voters), might find it a useful site.

My rank according to the survey:
    Kucinich
    Sharpton
    Kerry
    Clark
    Dean
    Edwards
    Lieberman
    Bush

The way I would rank them on my own:
    Edwards
    Kerry
    Dean
    Clark
    Kucinich
    Sharpton
    Lieberman
    Bush

    Rankings by survey:

    Kucinich
    Kerry
    Dean
    Edwards
    Lieberman
    Bush

    How I rank them:

    Edwards
    Kerry
    Lieberman
    Dean
    Kucinich
    Bush

My biggest reason for putting Edwards on top is he can win the southern states where Kerry can't. I'm not really in love with any of the candidates but I'm definitely not in favour of the things that the Bush camp has done regarding the way they handled tax cuts, the fact that the deficit this year is 4% more than it was last year, the patriot act (this is probably my biggest issue).

I supported the invasion of Iraq because Saddam did have WoMD in the past and used them so the belief that he had more and was trying to make more was plausible. I do support getting the UN involved ASAP and getting as many US and US Coalition troops out of there as we can. The American's foot the bill for this at the cost of lives and huge streams of money. Let's get some help from those who are benefitting from what transpired while they watched from the sidelines.

I'm actually not affiliated with any party and over the years my voting has been based on the candidate I liked best at the time which includes voting for Reagan in 1988.

My poll didn't even show Clark. I think he's the best candidate in the primary on paper but he really doesn't present himself well and he did nothing in the debagte last night to make me feel inspired by him. Kerry is also lackluster but he seems much more experienced where Clark, who is supposedly a genius or near it, appears to be relying on his intelligence to get him through.

Well, I'm not American but I follow the elections so I decided to go and do the quiz anyway. My results:

    Bush
    Lieberman
    Edwards
    Kerry
    Clark
    Dean
    Sharpton
    Kucinich

Which is amazingly spot-on, as Bush is indeed my favorite, Lieberman is my favorite among the Democrat candidates, and I consider Kucinich, Sharpton, and Dean the biggest wackos of the bunch.

Not an American but from comparing their views on my own, I'd vote for Sharpton as his views somewhat correspond to mine, and I feel his views are similar to that which my own county's Government has.

The result from the test came up with Kucinich and Sharpton as my joint top two, with Bush at the bottom with only 11% of my views...

Well, tossing Kusinich and Sharpton aside as bizarre and unelectable, a question they left out of the questinaire, I end up with Kerry and Leiberman, which is probably pretty accurate except that I was unable to properly prioritize my issues as they joined some together, like environment and economy, that I have no idea why they are tied together on this poll.

Bush is last interestingly enough, and I have to admit, while I agreed with almost everything he did foreign policy wise, the "Compassionate Conservative" line turned out to be a load of crap. Nevertheless, untill I hear something more comforting out of Kerry about how he would have handled things better concerning terrorism and the wars, I don't trust Democrats in the White House. I kind of liked the Republican Pres and the Democratic congress thing we had working back in the 80's, to be honest.

    Ah well....

Yeah, that was nice. I miss gridlock.

Whenever the government isn't gridlocked, they dip into our pocketbooks too much and spend way too much on bullshit giveaways.

An example of this is Bush's record on vetoing bills that cross his desk. To date, he has vetoed a big fat zero.

I know having the Republican's in control means they are going to get a lot of stuff passed but c'mon, something must have come by that didn't look right in 3 years.

    Heh

    For me it was:

    Kucinich -- 100%
    Kerry -- 99%
    Dean -- 92%
    Sharpton --91%
    Edwards -- 89%
    Clark -- 87%
    Bush -- 8%

Now, I do find that pretty amusing.

    Bush really frightens me.

    1 Kerry Score: 100%
    2 Edwards Score: 96%
    3 Clark Score: 87%
    4 Dean Score: 80%
    5 Bush Score: 79%
    6 Kucinich Score: 73%
    7 Sharpton Score: 68%

That test is very disheartening to me. I hope people don't actually use that site to decide who to vote for.

    My take:

    1 Bush 100%
    2 Everyone else 0%
