Well, when you've got hundreds of thousands of different shaped legos to choose from, you can do quite a bit before having to alter the shape of any existing lego. There are estimated to be something like 32,000 gene loci in the human genome, and each of these loci can have many different alleles (forms of the same gene). A lot of evolution can take place before the available variation in a population is used up.

well...I am a firm believer that evolution was set off by something. This something I believe is a "higher" force. For arguements sake, God. Scientists believe that BLAMO! the universe came into being because of the big bang.
But...I ask you this...what was there before the big bang?
What was there that could set off the big bang?

While I do believe something set off the big bang, the big bang may have caused organisms to live on this tiny blue planet covered in water.
We may be the direct result of Evolution, but what is Evolution the result of?

While being of a scientific mind I've always thought that Evolution was the true and correct method that all life has progressed by.

However one thing has always plagued me regarding the origins of the universe. And let's face it, to decide on Evolution or Creationism the core question is where did the begging of the universe come from.

The Big Bang theory, held by most to be valid and right states that the universe was created in an explosion brought on by all the matter in the universe being forced into a space the size of an atom and the heat beng so great that it exploded violently, throwing everything into everywhere...

The question I have though is this:

"Where did that original material come from?"

I'm a human and I know that I will never truly understand the age of the universe nor the vastness of it. But I still can not believe that all existed always. There had to have been a point when there was nothing. My mind can not fathom there always being a universe. Such I suppose is why we have Faith.
To answer that and to shoulder the burden of the inability to understand.

What about the prophesies in the bible that have been fullfilled?
There has been numerous, if you would like me to share, then I'll post them. The bible is the ONLY book that has fortold the future, hasn't been added to since the original copies were found.

Naw. Anything that tends towards survival, including strategies that include cooperative behaviors, will work in evolution.

Natural selection is based on differential reproduction rates, not surivival rates. Survival is only important because if you're not alive you can't reproduce (with a few exceptions). People still don't all reproduce at the same rate so natural selection still takes place.
