what would be even funnier and I think awesome is if they actually got it. Then the government would be officially sponsoring pornography..

Am I the only one who sees this as a complete and total setup on their parts for a HUGE publicity stunt?

I mean, this is Win/Win for them. If they win the case, then yeah, porn is officially funded and supported via tax payer dollars.

If they "lose" their argument and the government denies them the money, then they get to make a huge spectacle of how a legitimate business whose product is enjoyed by millions of people across the nation is being denied because it goes against (insert a variety of targets here).

These guys are brilliant when it comes to doing what they do. And what they do is keep your thinking about porn.

And we all know what a hard job THAT is... :rolleyes

I say let 'em sink. It's not like cars which require specialized labour and training, any mug with a camcorder and a couch can make porn, for fucks sake! Hell, that's all Girls Gone Wild is!

Maybe these big porn moguls NEED a reality check.

Ok, point taken, but seriously, what kind of business plays oliver twist for shits and giggles? Considering a lot of the problems in the current world market are brought on by lack of investor confidence, is this really the best strategy they could be taking?

Well, the porn industry. They are pretty much unable to secure financing for their products from any of the traditional methods, so this is not really going to hurt them in that sense.

Mainly, it just gets Hustler and GGW a lot of free press.

Read up on Larry Flynt sometime. And to answer the second half of your post (is this the best strategy), the answer is an unequivocal yes. As far as the porn industry is concerned, there is no such thing as bad press, particularly when it's also free.
