I think you are right that they HOPED for an incident. If they are not attention whores, they are at least drama queens. People like this (and this is hardly rare) are so unsatisfied with their lives they have to go out and manufacture drama/conflict to spice up their lives. It really is very pathetic.
I'm sure they'll be suing the school district when the teacher refuses to call their son "Adolph Hitler", and again when the history class teaches what an evil being Hitler was. These people are just begging for attention, and they should be ashamed of themselves, but are apparently incapable of shame. How long till they're on Springer, I wonder.

They name their kid Adolf Hitler and ask for a swastica to be put on the cake and still claim that it wasn't a racist intention? Oh I just wanted to give him a name no one else in the world would have. Yeah right. Someone else in the world DID have that name and he was one of the biggest mass murderers in history. Might as well name him Albert Fish or something. Its one thing to be racist, quite another to subject your children to the angry mob of offended people. People like this just piss me off.
If they weren't deliberately trying to make a scene, they could easily have purchased the cake plain. Walmart would doubtless have permitted that.
Funny about that. And you know, I don't think there's going to be VERY many people named "Iama Troll" either. (Although I just googled that, and there are actually hits.) There have been places named after Adolf Hitler, though, so if you want uniqueness, you're going to have to try a little harder. If the boy has an ounce of sense, he'll foster a nickname early on and use that all his life. Probably something completely unrelated to his birth name. Maybe even change his name by deed poll later on. Until then, though, this is going to plague him. Poor kid.
Methinks this will come sooner rather than later, possibly enforced by child protection. You can't tell me that giving a kid a name like that isn't endangering his welfare.Quote:

You're not the first person to suggest that this name might constitute child abuse. Unfortunately, unless you can point to some specific piece of law that forbids it, it's hard to prosecute. We do NOT want Social Services to be allowed to step in on some made-up charge and either rename someone or (worse) just remove custody from the parents. I would prefer that a parent's freedom be maintained than that this one boy be protected through a violation of the law. If they keep having trouble using the name in public, eventually they'll either officially change it, or just start using a less offensive nickname.Quote:
