The McCain campaign appear to still be very much on the offensive, what with the Palin investigations, and the press asking him about his convention speakers' (read Palin, Guiliani, Huckabee) trivialization of Obama's community organizer past.
His campaign is going to have to perform some magic pretty quick, or dig a little deeper into Obama's past if Obama is to be put on the offensive.

I know Palin is not running for president, but she is running with a man who is seventy-two tears old with a history of cancer. It is extremely frightening that the GOP is willing to put an unqualified candidate on the ticket for ideological and political reasons. It is even more frightening that people will vote for the Republican ticket under these circumstances. The US has had eight years of a president who put ideology before qualifications. Palin was a deer in headlights when Charlie Gibson asked her if she agreed with Bush's doctrine of pre-emption. It's one thing to be able to deliver a written speech, it's totally another to be able to answer tough questions on the spot. I see tough times ahead for this woman.

I'm sincerely hoping Obama is the progressive candidate he and his campaign says he is. I don't think the McCain ticket is progressive at all. I'm hoping America chooses intelligence for the White House this time and not a myopic idea of what it means to be patriotic.
