[META] College Football 2008-2009

Grumble... I found a new reason to dislike both California and ABC. The game of the week, the Chick-Fil-A game, one of the two games concerning two ranked teams, #24 Alabama vs #9 Clemson is being broadcast nationwide on ABC... everywhere except California. ARGH! Here, they're showing Cal vs MichSt. I know they're local, but come on, neither team is ranked! Same network that shows the damn Rose Bowl. At least they're not insisting on showing the PAC-10 nationwide instead.

That said, go Vols!!! (beat UCLA)

How can you root for Tenn against anyone as an Alabama fan? He screwed your school and got them on probation to save his own butt.

There are three things I hope for every year:

1) UGA wins the SEC Championship.
2) UGA wins the National Title.
3) Tennessee goes 0-12.

So far all 3 are still possible.

UGA played *60* different players in the first 55 minutes of the game (in other words, not pure garbage time). They played 11 true freshman. And they led 38-0 in the 3rd quarter and eventually won 45-21. I'm happy with that.

Mark Richt is not someone to run the score up on weak opponents just to get his rocks off and impress pollsters. He also likes to get as many people as possible some game experience. I like that attitude.

Very true. I despise Fulmer and hope he gets fired for piss poor performance. BUT I don't hate the school as much as Auburn. They have the sole honor of my full ire with the included wish to lose everything, which includes the coin toss! Hell, they can lose their way to the stadium! But off of Auburn who actually can win a game...

I'm stuck in California and I hear all about the damn Pac-10. And I especially hate how USC hopped OSU and UGA for practically the same performance. So VA is a BCS team. They're still scrubs just like Ga Southern or Youngstown State. I'd be more impressed with a victory over Appalachian State than Virginia! So SEC>Pac-10 and I will pull against them anytime an SEC team plays a Pac-10 team... unless it's Auburn.

Not sure where I stand on OSU v USC. Between the frog hopping USC who is not allowed to get National Title #12 until we get #13 and THE (pretentious) Ohio State University, I'm not sure who to pull against. But it's sure to be a great game! I hope they tie (sorry Daryonn). :)

But, yeah, Fulmer is a piece of shit, no doubt about it. And now, Tennessee has another bit of fecality to it, in that they lost TWO season openers against Pac-10 teams in a row. But Tennessee has the same hatred as any other SEC team... except Vandy. I kinda like them! Nothing sucks like a Big Orange!

OSU almost choked against a chump team. Dang.

Notre Dame: Fucking ESPN keeps giving them front page and prime tv coverage. They suck. They are irrelevant. They barely rallied very late to beat Sand Diego State (who lost last week to a Div IAA school).

Georgia Bulldogs: Very dominant win, and a great showing for Moreno (168 yards, 3 tds, 9 yards per carry). That should boost his Heisman status. I'm not sure if I want him to win it though... I'd rather he stay another year. :)

Next week UGA plays South Carolina and Steve Spurrier. Last year, Falix hated on UGA and Spurrier won. That lost cost UGA its shot at a national title. Since then, Michigan U, and almost every team in the state of Michigan has suffered enormously bad karma.

For everyone's sake, hopefully UGA takes care of business in Columbia and crushes the Old Ball Coach (his new online nickname though is the Old Ball Sack. lol).

Can someone explain to me how USC gains *11* #1 votes during an idle week, and UGA loses 2 #1 votes when they crush an actual real team 56-17?

Man, I really hope OSU can find a way to beat USC.

USC is the new media favorite. Or shall I remind you of the month long coverage of "Would 2005 USC beat this week's legendary team?" right before they were beat by Texas? USC would have to lose to lose votes. If they barely beat Middle Arizona Community College from Div III-AAAAAAA in overtime, they wouldn't lose a single vote. But the good news is that I know who to pull against!
