Well, there are several faults to your reply. You claim that I said many things that simply were not present in my original post. I haven't been calling attention to them because my post was poor enough that I felt I could be to blame for the misinterpretations. The only time I mentioned America as a whole was when I pointed out that the bulk of them don't approve of the current American government either. What I had intended to say in my original post was something more like this:
It's been obvious to me for quite a while now that the decision has already been made to attack Iran. The Bush administration seems determined to go down this road. It doesn't seem to matter to them that they are already spread too thin militarily. It doesn't matter to them what I or my country(which is one of their closer allies) think about it. It doesn't matter what congress or the law think about it. Worst of all, it doesn't even seem to matter to them what the people of their own country, the people they are supposed to be representing, think about it. They are going to do whatever they want, and what they seem to want to do is war.
Most of the points I was trying to make were present in the first post, they just weren't connected well(or at all). My introductory sentence was poorly phrased and unneccessarily inflammatory. I didn't mean to imply that attacking Iran is part of some grand conspiracy to conquer the middle east that they came up with back in 2001. However, I've had the belief that they are going to attack Iran for over a year now.
I never intended to argue the morality of attacking Iran. I'd have to be an idiot to say that they've done nothing to provoke it. The only morality I intended to address is the Bush administration's "We'll do whatever we want" attitude. It is possible that I'm wrong in my belief that the American people are generally against the idea of going to war with Iran at this time. Reading through this thread encourages my belief though. Even those posting against me seem to acknowledge that going to war with Iran could be a pretty bad idea at the moment.
