Any publicity is good publicity as long as you spell my name right?
Sure seems to apply to her

There is no equality because the wealthy elite own this country.Quote:

Let her write a book or make money off it, who cares? She's a millionaire and will be for the rest of her life. And there's no shortage of idiots that will wanna hear what she has to say. I just want her to have one shitty experience in her life (and it -will- suck). I just hope Blog's scenario doesn't happen. What a rip-off that would be! If it were up to me I would put her in a male prison.
I don't normally take the slightest notice of these sorts of articles, but the title keyed me back to this thread... an article in today's mX newspaper (a free newspaper that I basically read for the puzzle pages, and worth every cent I pay for it).

Jail time is no bar to Paris
Paris Hilton is likely to be more popular when she comes out of jail than when she went in, entertainment industry experts say.
Publicist Michael Devine said doing time would "actually increase her star appeal in a very sick and demented way".
"There's a segment of our society that is somehow engaged in the soap opera that is Paris Hilton, and this is a very compelling plot line in the soap opera," he said.
A judge ordered the socialite to report to a county jail in Los Angeles by June 5 for violating the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case. Her lawyer has said he will appeal.
The 26-year-old hotel heiress told the judge on Friday she didn't have time to talk to her lawyers about her probation.
That dismissive attitude is part of her appeal, said veteran publicist David Brokaw.
"The premise of her fame is being naughty," he said. "This is a career move for her. It simply fuels the fascination. She can only win with this."
But time behind bars isn't likely to impart any lessons for Hilton, said West Hollywood psychologist Jeremy Ritzlin.
"It's going to make her very unhappy because she's not used to this. She couldn't buy her way out of it," he said.
"But a 45-day trip to jail isn't going to change her behaviour."
To let the punishment fit the crime, the punishment fit the crime... Alcohol-related reckless driving? Issue a court order that she is to use trains/buses/bicycles/Shank's Pony for a period of a year. That'd wake her up a bit I reckon. It wouldn't do the environment any harm either. :)
She already ignored her suspended liceance, what makes you think she'd pay more attention to that? :(
True. I guess if she does, she gets socked with some massive penalty like a year or two in jail, convicted of major contempt of court.Quote:

Hilton — star of reality TV show "The Simple Life" on the E! network — has called the sentence unfair, and her fans have posted a petition on the Internet urging Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to pardon her.
"I feel that I was treated unfairly and that the sentence is both cruel and unwarranted and I don't deserve this," Hilton told photographers assembled outside her home Saturday.
A Schwarzenegger spokesman told The Associated Press it was "premature" for the governor to get involved.
The governor's office hasn't reviewed the petition but has received individual e-mails from constituents both for and against a gubernatorial pardon, Schwarzenegger spokesman Aaron McLear said Tuesday.

***Xaxer Boggles at the concept***
This is the reason I hate humanity.
So...its 'unfair' that she gets 45 days for BREAKING THE LAW...does she feel the same about 'normal' people breaking the law? How about putting people in jail for, say, burglary? What about grand theft auto? Hell, she could have killed someone while driving drunk, so how about murder?
Can the mother be sent to jail, too, please?Quote:
As a city prosecutor said during closing arguments that Hilton deserved jail time, Hilton's mother Kathy laughed. When the judge ruled, Kathy Hilton, then blurted out: "May I have your autograph?"
