Hee! GO ITALY! I will be sad when the World Cup ends, but I am really proud of how far my team has gotten. :D

Why will you be sad? You only have to win one more game!Quote:

She'll be sad probably because she just jumped on the Italy bandwagon after they beat Germany.
*flees for his life*
It's so sad that World Cup is almost over =(.
Congratulations to Italy. That was the only good game they've played so far (Well, only in the extra-time).
What I enjoy about the italians in most of their games, is that once they score their first goal, they get extremely fired up on scoring their second. I really dig that :)
Two beautiful goals, still doesn't mean I'll cheer for them.
Chaos in Brazil.
A statue of Ronaldihno was torn down.
Roberto Carlos quits.
So does Junhino.
And Pele, the legend, slams how badly the team had played.
I was actually not suprised that Brazil got kicked out. Wonder how Portugal and France will do. Im rooting for neither. All my favourites are out. Sigh.
Im sorry, but I thought the Italians were such actors. Especially Totti. And strangely, Gattuso. Not to mention goal-scorer Grotto.
Rather Grosso.
My bad.
I will be sad because Toronto goes crazy during World Cup time. I will miss the parties when my team wins! (And the free gelato).Quote:

Congrats Italy (and Carrah!).
Does this mean the USA is #2 in the world? Hey, we tied Italy after all... and did so by getting screwed into having 9 players for 40+ minutes.
:violin
And they had 10 at the time :) All the bookings were fair in that game, actually. But still it's a pity USA hadn't won that one, 'cause they just played better in the match.
I congratulate Zidane - that was one of the most amazing head-butts I've ever seen in my life! Materazzi just flipped over and I'm pretty much sure he didn't fake that one! :D
Okay. The World Cup has finished, so I guess all the Americans will be happy about no 'soccer' talks in Thresh ;) I'll just wait patiently until the UEFA Cup, the Chamions League, et cetera. :cool
I must admit it was the weakest WC I've ever seen (I hardly remember Italy 1990, but I've been watching constantly from USA 1994). Too few goals, too many bookings and generally poor soccer. Let's hope the next one will be better.
The team I vouched for (USA) was really disappointing in the end. I think it is something mental for that team, because judging the quality of their players - they definitely rank within the top 8 soccer teams in the world.
And how can we forget Zinedine Zidane? Such a poor finishing for a glorious career. It is a pity.
