Anybody up for another pool again, this year? I know there's still another 23 days left in the month, but if we want this we should probably get it set up soon.

I am so glad you started this. We were really late getting the momentum going last year and it was hectic.Quote:

Lets all start pumping this and try to get as many people involved as possible.
The big questions:
1) How much $ to enter.
2) Can people enter more than once?
3) Do we want any changes to the system we used last year, or the site? If you know a good site, recommend it!
Well, I'm definitely in this year, as this is my favorite sports-gambling type activity :D
1)How much $ to enter?
-I think $20 would be good.
2)Can people enter more than once?
-That depends on the answer to the next question. If we use the same site as last year, I personally don't have a problem with it. But I think each additional entry should cost another $10 or something.
3)Do we want any changes to the system we used last year, or the site?
-I was checking out the site from last year. I don't know whether it's just me or not, but it doesn't look like the site's even been updated since the pool ended last year.
4)Does anybody know an alternate place to host this?
-Everything I've found requires payment for setting up the pool. If what we're left with is those that require paying for, I'll just do it all by hand.
If folks decide to allow extra entries, they have to cost the same If one of those lesser cost entries won, it wouldn't be fair that they paid in less by still won the prize. Basically, they are lowering everyone else's odds of winning without paying in the same.
That site never updates until its time for March Maddess. It is a hobbyist site. I'd love something better.

Good point, and quite true. I'll keep looking!
Alrighty. I did a bit more searching, and came up with what, imo, is a much better site than the one that we've been using in the past. Pool Host I created an account and navigated the site a bit. It's simple enough to use I think. We can choose how many points per win for each round of March Madness, in addition to adding underdog bonuses, and a couple other little extra things. Take a look around the site, let me know what you think.
Looks great to me from what I saw. I say we go for it. Since the other one is like Ari said... a guy doing it as a side thing.
From what i could see, that site looks good. I'd also be in favor of allowing more than one entry.
