I'm going to propose changing "The Machine" with "Smack Talker Extrodinaire" and we'll hold the vote here on the forums. If there are any objections let me know. I like the idea, and it'll get more people involved in the league as spectators, which I think is a good thing. It might even help recruit players for next year. That's how we got Aelyn on board for this year.
Setting up a vote within the forums would be great! It's quick and easy and clear. I'm for that!:football
In the event of a tie for 'The Streak' (longest winning streak at any point during the season) how will the tiebreaker be determined? Or will the prize simply be split?
Right now Dras has the longest streak (5 games), Pyryth, Vin, and Wyden are the only ones who can pull even (Wyden could actually pull ahead) if Dras doesn't win this week.Quote:

If there is a tie I'd rather see it go to one person rather than be split. We could use something as a tie-breaker. Possible options are:
Strength of opponents (who beat the teams with the best regular season records)
Average Margin of Victory
Total Points Scored in streak wins
Closest scoring to optimal during streak
I like the strength of opponents best. We can go with that if there aren't any objections.
Regular Season Prizes
Comeback Kid ($50 in registration): This is the Korea of teams. They get conquered early, but they refuse to stay conquered! This prize will go to the team with the best record for the second half of the season among the teams that are at the bottom half of the standings for the first half of the season.
Winner: Wyden!
Wyden went from 1-6 and DFL to win five of his last six and almost making the playoffs. Not only did he win, but he beat some of the best, knocking off the #1 and #2 ranked teams in back to back weeks.
Honorable mention: Drasoini. Went from 2-5 to win five of his last six and make the playoffs. Made a great run, but was edged out by Wyden based on strength of opponents.
Murphy's Team ($50 in registration): This team can't win no matter how well their team does! They put up great points, but always seem to end up adding to the tally in the 'L' column. This is the team with the highest ratio of ranking based on record to ranking based on points.
Winner: Wrent!
The (un)Lucky Bitches finished the season ranked third in points, but 12th in the standings (ration of 4:1). To add insult to injury their average margin of defeat was a mere 12.04, second lowest in the league (Wyden was lowest at 8.82).
Honorable mention: Aelyn (ration of 7:2). The Dolls were second in points, but ended up watching the playoffs from home. Their average margin of defeat was third lowest, 15.52, and they were the only team to have a higher average difference between their optimal and actual scores than average margin of defeat. What’s that mean? It means that on average the Dolls could have scored 15.91 points more than they did, and on average when they lost it was by only 15.52 points.
The Streak ($25 in registration): This one is easy! The team with the longest winning streak at any point during the season.
Winner: Drasoini!
The Shock shocked everyone as they made their playoff run, rattling of a league leading five wins in a row at one point. Several teams had four wins in a row, but all fell short of the greatest streaker of the season!
The Punisher ($25 in registration): This team shows no mercy! They decimate their opponents by huge margins week in and week out. The team who has the largest average margin of victory for the season will win this prize.
Winner: Pyryth!
With an impressive 35.81 average margin of victory the Pokeys stuck it to their opponents hard, leaving no doubt that they are the best team in the land!
Honorable mentions: Wrent (32.01) and Wyden (31.78)
Hall of shame: Vin (12.25) and Deokoria (13.75) - These two have no killer instinct!
The Brain ($25 in registration): This team plays the right people at the right time. Their mental prowess is unsurpassed. This prize will go to the team who has the smallest differential between their optimal and actual scores for the season.
Winner: Wrent!
They may have been unlucky, but they were efficient, scoring an average of only 8.80 points short of their optimal. The Bitches had two perfect weeks in their run, scoring their optimal.
Honorable mention: Deokoria (8.96)
Hall of shame: Yarzin (18.32) and Wyden (17.64)
Smack Talker Extrodinaire ($25 in registration): This team talked the best smack during the season and will be voted on in the forums!
The season is over and the results are almost completely in. We still need to have the vote for the best smack talker, which will be soon.
I really liked the way the prizes worked out this year, and think next year we’ll add a “Best Defense” category, not for the team with the best performance in the “Defense” position, but for the team who holds opponents to the fewest points. This would be totally random since there is nothing you can do to keep your opponent from scoring points, which is why I think it would be a fun category to have!Code:Category Winner Registration Prize

I've made some tweaks to the spreadsheet that I use for tracking all of the FF stuff. I now have a prize worksheet that will keep a running total for all of the stat based prizes. This way it will be easy for me to post the standings in the prize race and add to the excitement and smacktalk fuel! it's never too early to start getting ready for FF 2006!
We now have winners for all of the categories. The final breakout is below. Thanks for a great year everyone! We'll be back next year with an even better FF 06!!
