Hines Ward: 2.5 pts, 20.4 pts, and 23.0 pts so far.
3 games in...I don't expect the Steelers to throw nearly as much now that Bettis and Staley are back. And now Bettis returns to his goal-line vulture role, so he'll be picking up a bunch of tds again.
We'll see. I still think the Bettis pick was the worst of the lot (though admittedly, we're splitting hairs.... hehehe).Quote:

Of course, Hines ward has to get a bad hamstring injury just as Bettis gets better.
Man, I hate sports.
I've noticed that Yahoo sports has been updating some of the scoring after I've written the recaps, so if you notice a discrepency it is likely because of a late update by Yahoo. I'm catching most of these and updating my spreadsheet, so the data I have for the end of the season prizes should be good. If you notice a discrepency for your team just let me know, and I'll update the database!
Just out of curiousity, why aren't return yards added to a players total? Is it just not an option with Yahoo, or is it a conscious decision and whatnot. I could see where it might present some small degree of advantage (ie a good WR that returns kickoffs), but it'd also make more potential players actually reasonable to pick up and use (ie RB/WR that exclusively sit on the bench and return kicks/punts). Maybe there's something to it I'm not seeing, or maybe it's just a software limitation. Just figuring if you count return TDs, why not the rest of the return?
The feature is available, but isn't part of the standard set-up. It would have taken a conscious decision to turn that stat on. It wasn't something I gave much thought, but if you remind us next year we'll probably do it.

I dunno. If you're ranking in order of badness, its more like
1) #1 Hines Ward
2) #1 Hines Ward
3) #1 Hines Ward
4) #1 Hines Ward
5-45) #1 Hines Ward
then maybe the rest.

Like I said. Bettis was the worse pick!Quote:

...
Bettis will probably be the starter from week 2 til possibly 5 while Staley still recovers from knee surgery, because the Steelers plan to bring him along slowly.
Hines Ward: 937 yards, 11 TD (and just for spice: Super Bowl MVP!)
Jerome Bettis: 363 yards, 9 TD
Not to mention, there are craploads of good RBs to pick from. It is harder to find a good, reliable WR.
okay, If you're gonna quote me, quote me in context.
One thing you've NEVER apparently got, is that Ward was never being compared to Bettis, Because Ward went #1
The choice wasnt between Ward and Bettis, the Choice was between Ward and EVERY-FUCKING-BODY-ELSE
As it stands now, Hines Ward was #42nd in scoring. He was the FIRST pick.
The way the autodraft is set up is that everyone puts in their favorites, ranked. So Ward was picked before 42 higher scoring people. Whereas Bettis was the leftover (very late if I remember right) since all the better people had been drafted.
So the argument really sucks. Understand the context please before you quote me to make the point... CAUSE YOU'RE STILL AS WRONG AS YOU WERE THEN!!! hA!
plus, by the 'hindsight' argument the worst first round pick was Priest Holmes, which you would never consider being a horrible pick, because of last year. Bettis had a great role coming into this season, just the scoring back. Shit happens, roll the dice... Hindsight is a petty argument in fantasy football.
