[EDIT: Inflamatory and unrelated remark removed]
Anyway, technically any catholic male can be pope. However, it is almost always a cardinal or occasionally a prominent archbishop.

Seriously, rather than asking such outlandish and ridiculous questions, go do some of the research on your own. Seriously, it feels like having a conversation with an eight-year-old. At least we can surmise that the eight-year-old probably doesn't know better, but you Salimar have no excuse!
She asked a question, thanks for clearing it up. Good work for you! I was under the impression that these forums were to discuss and ask questions. Adults can pull off 'infomative' without being condescending and insulting.
The event got a lot attention and headlines here (Israel), even though the amount of Catholic Christians around here is very very small. I think it's saying everything about him.
John Paul II was a man of peace. His actions throughout his life in bringing closer Christians, Jews and Muslims were probably the most a single man has done ever.
While I am not "saddened" by his passing away, I certainly think the world has lost one of its greatest leaders. Ever.

She asked a really dumb question. Her question was:" I read that there are three cardinals who can be popes: an Italian, an Argentinian and a Nigerian... why are these three allowed to be pope and not the other ones? anybody knows how this works?Quote:

Salimar"
Considering that there were many news sites writing up articles for succession, and the myriad of TV stations covering the Pope, the question could have been easily answered if she took just a few seconds scouring them. Also, it annoys the hell out of me when stupid questions like these are asked... how much more asinine can you get when asking why the Papacy is only limited to three people? I only have bad days when such banal questions are asked.

Alydar, I am absolutely disgusted by the way you just treated Salimar.Quote:

Now if you take time to read that article.

It is painfully obvious that your abuse is the result of previous arguments and disagreements you have had with Salimar.
The fact that you let that spill over into an unrelated thread, and stooped to such baseless personal attacks really speaks poorly of you.
You owe Salimar and everyone else here an apology. People click on this thread to read about the Pope, not to watch you insult Salimar.
People ask questions on these forums because they know we have an extremely diverse user base. They know it is very likely that people here have personal knowledge of the process and can also add interesting, personal insights into a matter (like Geabya's post, for example). There is absolutely no call for the way you treated Salimar.
Finally, considering the huge trouble you just got yourself in within the game, one would think you'd have a little more sympathy for others and understand that not everyone is perfect.
It is (bad) polish, and it translates roughly to:Quote:

God on health/cheers Karol Wojtyla, Thank you, good bye.
Thanks Nazon. :) I had asked my Pops for something appropriately Polish for John Paul. The first part he wasn't too sure about. Maybe it should have been Bóg zdrowie na Karol Wojtyla. ??? Close enough to 'God bless you', I hope.
