Has anyone upgraded to this version yet?
I am still using 0.8 because I haven't felt like writing down all the extensions I use so I can remember to re-install them.
Does upgrading to 1.0 cause you to have to re-install your extensions?
Does it mess with your bookmarks?

This is an interesting web site made by one of the creators of Firefox (the kid is 19!).

I upgraded to the new version yesterday, and it's been working fine. The only extensions I had installed were CuteMenus, User Agent Switcher and Toolbar Enhancements. They are all still functional with the new version (the install process searches for updates to extensions when the installed version is incompatible with Firefox 1.0). My two favorite themes (Rain and Smoke) aren't updated for version 1.0 yet though. The browser appearance isn't too important, but it hurts the OCD part of me when it looks like ass :P. My bookmarks were left intact.
As a side note, the themes that are incompatible with 1.0 still show up in my themes list. They are grayed out and unusable, but I have the option to check the web for updates to them. If it handles incompatible extensions the same way, your concerns about writing them down wouldn't be an issue. Unfortunately I have no first-hand experience with that.

As most of you know, I was having a lot of problems with IE over the last few weeks. I made the switch to Firefox 1.0 that weekend, and absolutely -LOVE- it. It carried over all my bookmarks, and it seems like all those lovely adblock extensions are already built in. I've yet to see a stupid popup add anywhere.
I tried using Firefox back when it was in version 0.7, and didn't have a very enjoyable experience with it. After hearing the praise that 0.8 got in it's own thread, I decided to give it another go, as I was long tired of all the constant problems with IE that I was having.
I've been using 1.0 for about 3 weeks now, and have yet to have a problem. :) When I installed it, I was given a couple prompts, where I could choose certain options(carrying over my IE bookmarks, making 1.0 my default browser, etc..). I am absolutely enjoying my 2nd experience with Firefox.

Gentoo hasn't added 1.0 release to its portage tree yet, but i've been using 1.0 PR for awhile now. apparently there isn't much difference but bug fixes (and i haven't experienced any of the bugs fixed) so I'm not in a big hurry. As soon as it comes up for update on the portage tree, i'll grab it though. As I do updates several times through the week.

Ive been using it for well over a month now maybe two. We had it in our labs for testing, so got our mitts on it long ago.
So far so good, miles better than Explorer!
Only incompatability troubles with extentions when updating, but not a biggy.

I installed 1.0 today and it did not upgrade my extensions, it just disabled/deleted them.
Then their main extension site doesn't even have the google toolbar!
So I went to another site to get it, and when I installed it, it installed TWO google toolbars.

Just curious, what do you use the Google toolbar for when Firefox already blocks popups and has that Google search box?
(I'm not being sarcastic, I really am curious.)

The google toolbar also has a "search site" button, which is very handy.
Then there's the highlight button, which is also quite nice.
Finally, the google toolbar has a drop down box that shows recent searches.
There are other nice features too.
I uninstalled the extension then re-installed it and this time it only installed itself once. :)

Some weird Firefox 1.0 Behaviors:
- The back and forward buttons stop working sometimes, but I can still use "backspace" to go back to a previous page.
- When I have multiple tabs open, if I go to another tab, the URL in the address bar still shows the URL of the previous tab, and the title of the web page stays the same as the previous tab. I have to hit ESC with the address bar area selected to get it to change. Its weird.
- The cntl-f functionality sucks, frankly. I really prefered the more windows like pop up window. Is there an extension that returns things to the old functionality?
